Giclée (French for “to spray”) is a printing process where millions of ink droplets are sprayed onto archival art paper or canvas. With the great degree of detail and smooth transitions of color gradients, giclée prints appear much more realistic than other reproduction prints. Because there is no visible dot screen pattern the resulting image has all of the subtle tonalities of the original art. The giclee printing process provides maximum color accuracy and exceptional resolution. The quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
